TOEFL in Education Perspective
Abstract
In over 9000 universities, agencies and other institutions in over 130 countries, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is the standard test to measure the English language ability of non-native speakers wishing to enroll in English-speaking universities. This “to be called” world-class university should prepare the organization, not only lecturers and employees but also the students for carrying out the world-class standard of teaching and learning.
As part of the journey, universities is expected to perform adequate TOEFL preparation and examination for its personnel. This TOEFL nowadays can be customized to university’s specific goal of English proficiency. Having language laboratory or center, equipped with the English test center can be beneficial for both university and students.
When the university use the TOEFL assessments, they get the information needed to help them confidently guide students to the next step of their English language learning journey. Important decisions about the students can have a long-term impact on the institution.

Impact
Being awarded a high score in TOEFL Tests proves somebody’s competency in English and this gives an edge over the others in the university. A high score also enhances chances to gain admission into the top league universities if somebody is trying to get into one. Not only during the school program, today some business organizations have made it mandatory to show a high TOEFL Test score in order to gain employment. The result of globalization is that today most business organizations have a mixed population of people who speak less of a particular language and more of English which has become a global language.
